Indonesian shares ended 0.80 percent higher Wednesday led by gains in commodity and bank stocks, but profit-taking ahead of long end-of-Ramadan holidays limited the market's rise, dealers said. The Jakarta Composite Index gained 19.24 points to 2,439.35.
Antam gained 5.1 percent to 2,600 rupiah, Bumi Resources rose 3.1 percent to 3,325, Bank Rakyat added 3.4 percent to 7,700 and Bank Mandiri gained 1.7 percent to 4,550. Profit-taking hit Astra International, which fell 2.4 percent to 20,950 rupiah while Telkom lost 0.6 percent to 8,350.
