Philippines share prices closed 0.12 percent higher on Thursday, lifted by an upturn on Wall Street, dealers said. The composite index gained 3.36 points to 2,771.97 while the all-shares index gained 0.47 percent to 1,787.09. There were 53 gainers against 46 losers and 61 that were unchanged, while turnover reached 3.558 billion shares worth 2.974 billion pesos (62.2 million dollars).
The local currency traded at 47.804 to the dollar. Energy Development Corp gained 4.44 percent to 4.70 pesos while Megaworld Corp rose by 1.33 percent to 1.52 pesos.
