Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) on Wednesday announced to fully participate in the bye-elections and also to nominate the party candidate against PML-N chief, Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. The PML-Q President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussein said while talking to media men at the residence of former Olympian Chaudhry Akhter Rasool.
Hussein accompanied by his party leaders including Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi, S.M. Zafar, Mian Munir and others visited the residence of Akhter Rasool to condole the death of his mother. When asked about the PML-Q candidate to be nominated against Nawaz Sharif in the bye-polls, Hussein said that party's Central Executive Committee would finalise the names of candidates for the bye-elections.
The Election Commissioner of Pakistan had already announced that the bye-elections for the three seats of National Assembly Constituencies-NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI, NA-123 Lahore-VI and NA-271 Kharan-cum-Washuk-cum-Panjgur and two seats of Punjab Assembly Constituencies- PP-82-Jhang-X and PP-284 Bahawalnagar-VIII, would be held on November 7, 2009. Dates for filing of nomination papers with the Returning officer by the candidates are from September 30 to October 3.
Hussein further said that his party would apprise the public regarding performance of present regime and previous regime during the campaign for bye-elections. "We would expose the rulers ineptness in resolving the issues confronted to public," he said.
He also criticised the government on its failure in checking price hike even during the holy month of Ramazan. He was of the view that the government, which remains unable in addressing public problems, must have resigned. He said the people failed to get any relief despite huge subsidy given by the government on essential items in the Ramazan. He said that people have been disappointed with present rulers.
