India's moon water probe could yield more finds

Indian space scientists whose satellite detected water on the Moon's surface said Friday their programme might yield further discoveries once all the data is analysed. "Chandrayaan I has found water on the moon, it is a grand success," the chairman of the Indian Space Research Management, G. Madhavan Nair, told reporters.
"Our team is analysing all the details. There could be much more interesting facts. We will talk about all of it once we have concrete data analysis report." In one of the three papers published in the latest edition of the journal Science, researchers said they analysed light waves detected by an instrument on board the Indian satellite. The reflected light waves indicated a chemical bond between oxygen and hydrogen - proof, the researchers said, of the existence of water on the Moon's surface.
