Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the issue of rental power plants (RPPs) will be discussed in the forthcoming session of the PAC. He expressed these views while talking to mediamen at Parliament House on Friday.
He said that the issue of sugar was sub judice as the mill owners had filed a petition against the Lahore High Court (LHC) price fixation in the Supreme Court and could not be taken up in the PAC meeting to be held on September 28. Chaudhry Nisar, leader of opposition in the lower house of the parliament, said that besides the rental power plants (RPPs), all other issues would be discussed in the meeting.
In reply to a question, the opposition leader said that the government totally failed in resolving the major crises being faced by the country. Pakistan Muslim League (N) would soon issue a white paper, he said, adding that the government was begging, but the world was not ready to help it.
He said that the Charter of Democracy (CoD) was an important document signed by the late Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif, but the government was not ready to implement it. He said that it was need of hour to implement it in letter and in spirit. Chaudhry Nisar further said that the PML-N would fully participate in the upcoming by-elections. Ticket would be issued to a local candidate from the constituency NA-55 Rawalpindi, he added.
