The Malaysian bourse is expected to be range-bound next week, analysts said on Friday, as the market is not expecting any catalysts that could spur an upward trend. "The performance will depend on the region next week as we are not expecting any major news to create any upside locally, with the markets range-bound till the end of the month, Stephen Soo, a senior analyst at TA Securities told AFP.
"This week was very quiet because of the holidays at the beginning of the week and many investors are still away on extended holidays, so we are hoping for some movement next week," he added. Soo tipped the key index to trade in the range of 1,200-1,230. For the week to September 25, the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index fell 3.81 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 1,217.39.
