Over 2,000 agreements signed with private sector: MD Pepco

MD Pepco, Tahir Basharat Chima has said that more than two thousand agreements have been signed in the private sector to enhance power production to overcome the energy crisis. Addressing the Pepco officials here he said the government is taking serious steps to meet the energy demand in the country and that is why the government had signed several agreements in private sector.
He further said that year 2009-10 was declared as 'end of power theft' while, Remote Reading Technology is introducing to detect line losses. Tahir Basharat said the government had lifted the ban on recruiting new employees to fill the vacuum of staff, while 20 percent quota has been reserved for the children of Pepco employees.
