Adviser to Punjab government Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said MQM Chief Altaf Hussain's statement "against the unity of Punjab reflects his typical narrow linguistic approach, and at a time when the need of national integrity is more than ever Altaf Hussain should refrain from such statements."
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said, "Linguistic politics of Altaf Hussain has virtually divided Sindh province into two and it is due to this kind of politics that Karachi remained a scene of worst kind of violence and bloodshed for a long time."
He further said, "Altaf Hussain's statement reflects his narrow mindedness and if he was to adopt this kind of attitude why did he change the name of his party." He said, "It is strange that on one hand Altaf Hussain issues statements against division of society on the basis of resources, and on the other misses no opportunity to widen differences in the society for the achievement of his vested political interests."
