Farmers stage protest against the high rate of seed bag as it is not possible for the small farmers to buy certified wheat seeds at a high rate. They warn that if the government does not reduce the seed prices, then the cultivation of wheat would severely be affected.
Earlier, Punjab Seed Corporation started the sale of certified wheat seeds to registered dealers and farmers and the 50kg bag is being sold at Rs 1870.
