Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi usually stays in controversy due to his outspoken nature. He is back with yet another controversial remark which could result in a possible ban.

Pemra has issued a notice to the private television channel for his show ‘HQ Debate’, in which Abbasi, who hosts the show, made derogatory remarks about Pakistani passport.

PEMRA said the channel violated code of conduct. “Airing of such derogatory remarks amounts to spread of hatred and provokes anti-Pakistan sentiments,” said the press release. It ordered the channel chief executive officer (CEO) to report before PEMRA committee and explain their position.

Moreover, PML-N MPA Hina Pervez Butt has also submitted the resolution against him, quoted him as saying, “No one from anywhere in the world is ready to take Pakistani citizenship. No one is ready to spit on the Pakistani passport.” She demanded that Hamza should tender an apology over his remarks against the Pakistani passport as they had damaged the country’s image. She said everyone should respect Pakistan rather than commenting in such a manner, local media reported.

Pervez also address Pemra to ban such shows which are against the nation’s integrity. The program in question was focused on the Rohingya Muslims ongoing crisis.

Earlier, Hamza Ali Abbasi was ban from hosting a Ramadan transmission on Aaj TV for provocative content.
