The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry has said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would continue its efforts for the solution of the problems being faced businessmen dealing in paper and paperboard products. The LCCI President was speaking 16th Annual General Meeting of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) on Friday.
LCCI Vice President Faisal Iqbal Sheikh, newly elected APPMA President Ali Asif Bukhari, Vice President Amir Syed Sheikh, Honorary General Secretary Muhammad Shakeel Malik and LCCI former Executive Committee Member Khamis Saeed Butt also spoke on the occasion.
Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry urged the newly elected office-bearers of the APPMA to forward their proposals to the LCCI so that the issued being faced by them could be taken up with concerned government circles.
Speaking on the occasion, newly elected APPMA President Ali Asif Bukhari, Vice President Amir Syed Sheikh, Honorary General Secretary Mohammad Shakeel Malik and Khamis Saeed Butt urged the government to help curtail import duty on the Paper and paperboard and it should be included in the category of semi-finished material for printing and packaging.
They said that the government should allow duty-free import of paper used for printing of textbooks. They said that it would help the students to get textbooks on cheaper rates. Khamis Saeed Butt presented the annual report of APPMA besides giving details about the APPMA performance during the outgoing year.
