Early trading on the commodity wholesale markets was marginally low but with the passage of time it picked up and attracted retailers to buy their immediate needs. On Monday markets witnessed some changes in barley, til, and jute goods and hessian, masoor from Canada, cotton cakes.
Sharp rise was, however, seen in barley Sindh and Mardan. Low type rose by Rs 400 to Rs 2900 while better type was up by Rs 550 to Rs 3000. Til rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3450 while superior type rose by Rs 150 to Rs 3600, cotton cakes Sindh with bag rose by Rs 10 to Rs 940 while other type was quoted at Rs 960. On the cereal side, ,masoor Canada shed Rs 100 to Rs 8500 while the other type was quoted at Rs 8600.
On Jodia Bazar jute goods twine (per Kg) 20x3 Brown quoted at Rs 70, 16x3 CRT/Indus quoted at Rs 70, 8x3 lost Rs 2 to Rs 98 and 40x2 brown shed Re 1 to Rs 67. Hessian cloth (per 91.44) 50x9 Thus ended lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2200, 45x9 lost Rs 100 to RS 2200, 50x8 Thus shed Rs 100 to Rs 2000 and 45x8 lost Rs 150 to Rs 1800. On Tuesday buyers nearly abstained from visiting and lifting goods leading to slide in prices whole sellers reported. However on the gram side, gram dal Australia shed Rs 50 to Rs 3800 while other variety was quoted at Rs 4000.

On Wednesday declining trend in prices was evident as retailers are delaying to buy besides steady arrival. However, gram dal shed value further by Rs 50 to Rs 3800 while the other kind was quoted at Rs 4000, 50x50 shed same amount to Rs 3300 while the other type was quoted at Rs 3500. Yellow peas conceded Rs 50 to Rs 2650 while the other quality was quoted at Rs 2800, yellow peas Canada dal lost Rs 50 to Rs 3950 while other type was quoted at Rs 4150. Dal beetle shed Rs 100 to Rs 3950 while other type was quoted at Rs 4150.
On the cereal side masoor from Canada was down by Rs 100 to Rs 5400 while other type was quoted at Rs 8500. Barley Sindh low type shed Rs 400 to Rs 2500, while the other was down by Rs 450 to Rs 2550, gur better type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 9700 while the other was put at Rs 5900 and Khandsari rose by Rs 800 to Rs 6800. Cotton cakes with bag better type lost Rs 10 to Rs 950 while other type was marked at Rs 940, and til low type was marked at Rs 940, and til low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3550 and better type rose by Rs 150 to Rs 3750.
On Jodia Bazar white pepper (40 kg) ended down Rs 200 to Rs 16,600 black pepper Singapore rose by Rs 300 to Rs 10,800, black pepper from Ceylon turned higher by Rs 100 to Rs 10,600, mace rose by Rs 3000 to Rs 40,000. Small cardamom rose by Rs 1600 to Rs 36000, big cardamom shed Rs 200 to Rs 16,400.
Dry ginger Ethiopia up by Rs 300 to Rs 3500. Saunf shed Rs 500 to Rs 4500, long pepper rose by Rs 500 to Rs 10,000, peanuts up Rs 100 to Rs 3450, Sago up Rs 10 to Rs 1850, chillies dandiwali quoted at Rs 3400, darchini shed Rs 100 to Rs 4000, and tamarind rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1200. Cooking oil rates: Mezan 5 litre Rs 610, Mezan 16 litre Rs 1600, Habib 5 litre Rs 680, Dalda 5 litre Rs 680, Soya supreme 5 litre Rs 680, ghee prices Mezan 5 kilo Rs 550, Mezan 16 kilo Rs 1670, Habib 5 kilo Rs 670, Dalda 5 kilo Rs 670 and Soya Supreme 5 kilo Rs 670.
On Thursday only deal was marked on the grain market as gur turned lower by Rs 800 to Rs 5900 and Rs 6700. Cotton cakes with bag rose by Rs 10 to Rs 950 while the better type was higher by Rs 20 to Rs 970.
On Jodia Bazar dyes showed rising trend: Pak dyes (per pound) Khaki US ended firmer by Rs 5 to Rs 145, Brown GC rose by same amount to RS 145, Bordeaux B Cone ended higher by Rs 5 to Rs 140. Daizo Black BH cone rose by Rs 5 to Rs 140, green G rose by Rs 5 to Rs 140. Basic colour Aramine O rose by Rs 10 to Rs 10 to Rs 130, Rohdamine B up Rs 5 to Rs 275 and basic brown up Rs 10 to Rs 140.
On Friday, as usual nochange in prices was reported from grain and seed market, participants were engaged in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazar Ceylon raw rubber closed higher. The changes were: CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) was quoted at Rs 90 and RSSV moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 92. LATEX: Merrytex (28 kg) was quoted at Rs 550 and Semnan Tex was quoted at Rs 550.
On Saturday trading was thin, as many players did not take interest in fresh purchasing. On the cereal side, moong Punjab shed Rs 12 to Rs 3950, masoor Canada low type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 8200 and best type resisted sharp fall but closed with a decline of Rs 100 to Rs 8400. Guwar Sindh good type, however, gained Rs 100 to Rs 3400 while the inferior quality retained its overnight level at Rs 3100. Gur best quality lost Rs 100 to Rs 6600, low type held the overnight level at Rs 5900. On the seed side, til lost Rs 100 to Rs 3450-3650 and cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh after maintaining a firm trend, shed Rs 10 to Rs 960-980.
On Jodia Bazar milk powder skimmed closed higher. The changes were : MILK POWDER SKIMMED (Per bag of 25 kgs): Nur Pur edged up by Rs 200 to Rs 6,200 and Olden Burger moved upward by Rs 500 to Rs 7000.
VEGETABLE: Balie Gold closed higher by Rs 900 to Rs 7,500, Corolac went up by Rs 200 to Rs 8,100, Haleeb Veg moved upward by Rs 400 to Rs 6,300 and Melco Veg finished higher by Rs 600 to Rs 6,600.
SWEETENED (Per cartoon): Lucky Boy closed up by Rs 100 to Rs 2,650 and Comelle moved upward by Rs 150 to Rs 3,300.
UNSWEETENED: King of Kings was quoted at Rs 3,700.
