Managing Director, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal(PBM), Zammurrad Khan has announced a financial assistance of Rs 0.5 million for Orphan Children Academy on monthly basis. The financial grant would be utilised for providing food package on daily basis for 500 to 800 orphan children of academy, established under supervision of Ummah Welfare Trust.
Speaking on the occasion, Khan said that welfare of children and particularly the care of the orphans is a noble cause and the Ummah Welfare Trust has no doubt a remarkable progress in all its centres throughout the country. "Children, according to Islam are entitled to various rights. The first and foremost of these rights is the right to be properly brought up, raised and educated which means that children should be given suitable, sufficient, sound and adequate religious, ethical and moral guidance through out their life," he said.
"In Pakistan, our conviction and resolute commitment for children flows from a tradition of care, which is firmly rooted in Islam and Islam prohibits all form of violence against children and protects their fundamental rights," he added. Khan called upon the civil society, and other voluntary and indigenous philanthropy sectors to come together to join hands for strengthening and supporting the initiatives for the welfare of the deserving.
He said that PBM was making efforts in uplifting of neglected segment of the society especially the poor and orphans and its various projects have assured the full support these persons in terms of financial and technical assistance. The Managing Director PBM have also adopted a five-year old boy, who was the victim of 2005 earth quake in Mansehra.
