Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh has directed the officials concerned to accelerate the pace of implementation of Annual Development Programme (ADP) projects being executed by Agriculture department, Punjab. He was chairing a meeting to review ADP of Agriculture Department 2009-10 in the committee room of Punjab Agricultural Research Board here, on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Arif Nadeem, Secretary Agriculture Punjab; Dr Mubarak Ali, Chief Executive, Punjab Agricultural Research Board (PARB); Chaudhry Abdul Rasheed, Director General Agri (Research); Abdul Majeed, Director General (Water Management); Dr Muhammad Yaseen, Director General Agri. (Field); Dr Ijaz Pervaiz, Director General (Pest Warning and Quality Control of Pesticides); Dr Tariq Iqtadar, Director Floriculture and other heads of various wings of Agriculture Department.
While briefing to the minister it was told that an amount of Rs 3,200 million for 40 on going and new schemes was allocated in the ADP 2009-10, while Rs 2775 million has been released by the Finance Department, Punjab for the execution of ADP projects.
It was also reported that release of funds to wrong schemes/ codes, delay in staff/ pay package clearance by Finance Department and difficulty in online budgeting under PIFRA are the main issues, which are being addressed to accelerate implementation of ADP Projects by different wings of Agriculture Department, Punjab.
