The two-day meeting of National Judicial Policy-Making Committee (NJPMC) will be held here on Saturday (today) at the Lahore High Court. Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will head the meeting in which Chief Justices of all the four High Courts, Federal Shariat Court and Supreme Court Registrar, who is the NJPMC secretary, will participate.
The committee will consider proposals forwarded by participants of the National Judicial Conference, which was held on July 4-5, of district judicial committees held on August 1, lawyers and the general public for reviewing the National Judicial Policy, 2009.
The NJPMC will also take up the issue of the establishment of a federal court and reports from Provincial home secretaries with regard to capacity building of the probation department. Later in the Saturday night Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry will attend a reception hosted by the Lahore High Court Bar Association.
