Suspected dengue fever patient admitted at Pims

A suspected dengue fever patient who arrived in Islamabad from Saudi Arabia on Friday has been admitted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). Pims Spokesman, Waseem Khawaja said that Abdul Ali Mian, 32, who is a driver in Saudi Arabia felt unwell as he arrived in Islamabad and was immediately brought to the hospital where he was admitted in an isolation ward.
"His blood sample has been sent to National Institute of Health (NIH) for test so it is too early to say anything about his condition" he said.
Khawaja further told this scribe that this new case could increase the total number of confirmed dengue fever patients to five. The conditions of other four dengue fever patients including Astan Khan, 50, a resident of Abbotabad, Mohammad Rizwan, 22, from Haripur, Mohammad Safeer, 17, from Golra and five-year-old Murseleen from Bhara Kahu were stable and out of danger, he said. He added that 16 residents of Kotli, AJK were also confirmed as dengue fever positive cases.
