Comsats architecture students design for post disaster housing

The students of Architecture Department, Comsats Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, are designing for the post architecture disaster Earthquake Housing in Battal (kodar valley) near Mansehra.
They have been continuously involved in the post-disaster architectural concerns with the Heritage Foundation and Karawan Pakistan Institute for Research and Training (KIRAT), under the guidance of Architect Yasmeen Lari since 2005 earthquake. The students of 3rd year Arch under the supervision of Ar. Arif Masoud and Ar. Sarah Saeed are spending a week at the disaster struck area of Battal (kodar valley) near Mansehra from October 4 till October 11, which coincides with the anniversary of the tragedy which occurred on October 8, 2005.
This is a learning opportunity for students to become sensitive to different ways of managing disaster.
