A delegation of students and teachers of Deaf Reach School and Training Centre Hyderabad of Family Educational Services Foundation visited University of Sindh on Friday.
The delegation was comprises of 60 male and female students and 11 teachers led by co-ordinator, Atiya Taj, visited the Institute of Sindhology, its Museum, and Gallery of prominent scholars, writer, politicians, poets, social workers and corners set-up in the name of various outstanding personalities.
The delegation visited Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Gallery where a large number of unique and rare photographs of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's are displayed. The students also visited arms Gallery, Ethological Gallery, Dr N.A Baloch Corner, Photographic Gallery, Music Gallery, and Paintings Gallery.
M. Qasim Maka Deputy Director of Sindhology and Razia Tarque briefed the delegation about the functions of the Sindhology Institute. Professor Waheeda Baloch faculty member of the Institute briefed the teachers and students about the artwork produced and displayed by the Institute and working at the department of textile design. Atiya Taj on this occasion appreciated the working of the Institute of Sindhology and Institute of Art and Design and said that the teachers and students of the Deaf Reach School and Training Center are very much impressed from the valuable work of both the institutes.
She said that their centre has been delivering services to promote skills of the Deaf boys and girls and providing academic and skills training in variety of fields, assisting deafs to develop their inherent gifts and talents and to realise their full potential. She said that visit of the University of Sindh as well as Institute of Sindhology, Institute of Art and Design aims to provide social uplift to deaf boys and girls and to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate due to handicaps. She informed that under family educational services foundation, the deaf reach schools and Centers are run at the Karachi and Lahore. The teachers of the center Fahmida Abassi, Fadia Memon, Saidia Shaikh, Misbah Nizamani, Muhammad Madni, M. Kashif and others were accompanied to the students.
