Independence Cup: Pakistan loses Zaman early
Pakistan lost their first wicket on 8 runs, when Fakhar Zaman perished to South African Morne Morkel.
Zaman started of the inning with two consecutive boundaries, smashed the uncertain length around off, but manage to get a thick outside edge and Hashim Amla gobbles it up at first slip.
Faf du Plessis, skipper of the World XI won the toss and elected to bowl at the historic Independence Cup, on Tuesday at Lahiore Gaddafi Stadium.
“It's pretty new for all of us, we've got a long batting order and gives us an opportunity to look at the wicket. We are playing a small part in bringing cricket to Pakistan,” said du Plessis.
“We wanted to bat first anyway. The boys are exited as eight players would be making their debut in Pakistan, we are moving ahead and are excited about the future,” said Sarfraz.
