The Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Thursday that the enemy forces are trying to destabilise Pakistan by hiring murderers for terrorist attacks. The Interior Minister, who dashed to the city and visited the affected sites including the FIA building and Elite Police Training Centre in the evening, said the government was fully vigilant to the situation and it would not let the enemies of Pakistan to move scot-free.
He also addressed the Elite Force Jawans at the training centre and appreciated their fearless passion to deal with the terrorists. However, media was not allowed to get in the training centre. He also urged the nation to stand up with the government in this hour of ordeal and do not lose heart. He said the government would never let the hired murderers to damage the society any further.
On the controversy relating to his visit to the GHQ a day earlier, Rehman Malik termed all reports as baseless and said he stayed in the GHQ for about two and a half hours. It may be noted that the media had reported that the Interior Minister was denied entry into the GHQ.
"I am ready to resign in case it is proved true," he challenged the media. When asked about the possibility of involvement of foreign hands in these attacks, he said he was not in a position to name anyone without proof. However, he added that the hidden hands behind the hired killers were trying to destabilise Pakistan. The government was fully alert and there was a strong co-ordination between the law enforcement agencies, he added.
He said the government would be focusing on capacity building in next six months to one year and special equipment would be imported from China in this respect. He also negated the presence of Black Water organisation in Pakistan. He appealed the youngsters to inform the government immediately through SMS in case they found any suspicious activity in and around them.
