All you need to know about Apple’s September 12 event

The long-awaited iPhone event on September 12 was surely a blast for iPhone fans. Apple announced a list of surprising and mesmerizing gadgets in its event. Here’s all you need to know about yesterday’s event held in the new Steve Job’s theatre in Cupertino.

iPhone X (iPhone ten)

As predicted, iPhone X, which was the main attraction of the event, contains edge-to-edge OLED display with a virtual home button. Wireless charging and Face ID are also some of the new prominent features of the phone. Also, through special face-scanning technologies, changing their facial expressions can enable users to animate emojis. The phone will cost $999 and will come out in November.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Though a bit less advanced than iPhone X, these phones still managed to create great impact, maybe due to their cheaper rates. iPhone 8 will cost $699 whereas, iPhone 8 Plus will cost $799 and both of them will roll out on September 22. Being similar to the previous iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the new phone features wireless charging, fast processor and enhanced cameras.

iOS 11

All of the newly announced phones will have the latest operating system, iOS 11. The new OS will advance Live Photos, introduce the new-look App Store, make Siri less robotic and a lot more. Though available for free download by September 19, it won’t be available for all of the iPhone and iPad owners, writes Independent. The software enables to record users’ onscreen activity along with an enhanced tool for snapping and editing. It also has a peer-to-peer payment option for Apple Pay, a newly designed Control Center and augmented reality feature due to ARKit.

Apple Watch Series 3

Apple Watch 3 was also one of the major launches due to its upgrade from previous Apple watches. Through the new LTE cellular connectivity, users can make calls, use Maps, stream songs and access Siri on the watch without phone syncing. The watch can read user’s heart rate and warn them about any problems. The watch will launch on September 22 for $329.

Apple TV 4K

The company updated the TV with 4K and HDR technology. This will make picture quality incredible, but only for those who own a 4K HDR TV. The TV is available for $179 with pre-orders starting from September 15 and will start shipping from September 22, reports Business Insider.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook expressed, “There’s a lot of companies that have much higher margins. We price for the value of our products. And we try to make the very best products. And that means we don’t make commodity kind of products. And we don’t disparage people that do; it’s a fine business model. But it’s not the business that we’re in. If you look across our product lines, you can buy an iPad today for under $300. You can buy an iPhone, depending upon which one you select, for in that same kind of ballpark. And so these are not for the rich.”
