Leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Nayeem Ahmad Khan has urged India to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people in occupied Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, Nayeem Khan, while addressing a public gathering in Baramulla town asked New Delhi to make situation conducive before holding dialogue process with pro-freedom leadership.
"New Delhi should release all political prisoners, repeal draconian laws and stop human rights abuses, before holding talks with pro-liberation leaders," Khan said. He demanded that India should fulfil its promise of holding plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. He said there was a growing international pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute, adding, "It should see the writing on the wall that the people of Kashmir will not compromise on their right to self-determination."
Nayeem Khan also condemned re-arrest of senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah and stopping Syed Ali Gilani from offering Juma prayers terming it as undemocratic and inhuman act. "India cannot suppress freedom movement by using brute force or by harassing and arresting people," he maintained.
