On the directives of Interior Ministry, a team comprising senior police officials had reached district Nasirabad to conduct further investigation into killings of 20 policemen at the hands of militants. Well-informed sources in Home Department told APP here on Saturday that heirs of 20 murdered police personnel had appealed to Interior Ministry to conduct inquiry into the killings of their beloved ones.
Militants had kidnapped 20 policemen from Tehsil Chhatar of district Nasirabad and later the abductees were found dead in a well of the area. Sources maintained that the team comprising DIG Crimes Branch Rahmatullah Niazi, DIG Abdul Ghaffoor Kansi and other senior officials had started its work in Nasirabad.
On Saturday, the team also recorded statements of heirs of deceased police cops and policemen injured in the incident. The team has also assigned task to recommend necessary action against police officials were found negligent on the occasion and aftermath of abduction of labourers and police personnel.
