A strong Pakistani delegation has arrived here to participate in Youth Day and 5th Asia and Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR). The conference on Youth Day held on Saturday in which over a dozen youths from Pakistan representing all the four provinces are participating.
Talking to APP Munawar A Rind, Executive Director of Participatory Youth Development Network (Pakistan) said that he was really impressed with the socio-economic development and our visit will help to know how we can replicate Chinese experience in our country.
Rind said that he and his other colleagues are enthusiastically taking part in the conference and will read out papers and take part in various activities in APCRSHR to be started from Sunday. Nisaruddin and Khaqan Aziz Dar also expressed their keenness to learn about social responsibilities of youths during their stay here.
A young volunteer girl from Karachi said that she is eager to learn more and more about volunteerism in China. She pointed out that before arriving here she has learnt a lot on China's stunning developments in all areas. The Chief Executive Officer of Rahnuma-Family Planning Syed Kamal Shah who is leading another 8-member delegation said that he would read paper on "Islam and Family" in the opening session of the APCRSHR tomorrow.
Shah said that his health institution is the oldest one in Pakistan. Director Advocacy at Rahnuma-Family Planning, Nabila Malick said that she would read paper on "Is Pakistani Women really empowered," while another delegate from Pakistan Dr Ghazala Khan said that she would present paper on Social-Culture, Economic consequences of unsafe abortion. She pointed out that time has come to tell our women folks about the danger of unsafe abortion. The visit was sponsored by United Nations Population Fund (Pakistan).
