Afghan government has appreciated Pakistan for launching military operation against militants in South Waziristan's tribal area bordering Afghanistan, a local newspaper, Daily Outlook, reported on Sunday. Quoting Afghan Defence Ministry spokesman General Zahir Azimi, the Daily Outlook said that Afghanistan welcomed launching ground offensive against militants in South Waziristan.
Azimi, according to the newspaper, noted that Waziristan operation was an example of co-operation by Pakistan in war on terror. Pakistan, in the wake of recent increase of suicide bombings, which have left over 100 people dead, kicked off a major offensive operation against Taliban and al Qaeda hideouts in South Waziristan since Saturday.
