The Karachi Port handled 278,838 tonnes of cargo including 213,804 tonnes import and 65,034 tonnes export cargo including 4,987 empty and loaded containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 200,848 tonnes dry cargo including 139,281 tonnes containerised and general cargo; 2,910 tonnes DAP; 24,000 tonnes coal; 18,821 tonnes rock phosphate; 15,092 tonnes cement and 77,990 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Twelve ships namely Bright Star, Lucky Arrow, YM Europe, APL Sokhna, Mare Threcium, MCP Salzburg, Sattar, Aqua Star, Guan He Kou, Chem Bridge, DL Aster and Spirit sailed out to sea during the report period.
Sixteen vessels viz Lucky Arrow, Monique-1, Sammi Superstar, Mare Threcium, MOL Bravery, Uni Promote, Dandelion, Goa, Chitral, MCP Salzburg, Providana, Trustful, Ferodows-1, MT Swat, Spirit and Al-Marwah are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Dandelion, MOL Bravery, Alliance Norfolk and Al-Marwah expected to sail on Monday, while another two vessels viz Providana and Sammi Superstar are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Six vessels viz Iron Monger-5, Al-Mirqab, MSC Jade, APL Dalian, Alliance Norfolk and Pulan Cebu due to arrive on Monday, while another nine ships namely Sakarya, Six Eastern, High Mars, DL Clover, Sun Flower, Sima Sahba, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Samin-1 and Saeed are due to arrive on Tuesday.
Three ships namely MT SC Tian Jin, MT Brave Heart and CV Cape Magnus sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more ships namely CV MSC Canberra, MT Ionon Trader and MV Sem Jong are expected to sail on Monday. A total of nine vessels viz Maersk Virginia, SC Guoji, Catterick, Spirit, High Mercury, July-M, Mela, Hong Son Sky and Alexi-I scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals, palm oil, diesel oil, seeds, rice and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight ships namely CV Cape Magnus, CV MSC Canberra, MV Sem Jong, MV Costanza, MV Alaska-II, MV Hiba Al-Noor-B, MT Ionon Trader and MT genie are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely CV Maersk Virginia, MV July-M, MT Spirit and MT Catterick carrying containers, seeds, palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
Oil tanker Al-Soor-II is due to arrive on Monday, while two more ships namely CV Nedlloyed Oceania and MT Andinet are due to arrive on Tuesday. Six ships namely MSC Canberra, MSC Sarawak, ACX Marguerite, CMA CGM Turquoise, Annemieke and Federica Prima with containers, project cargo and iron ore are also expected to arrive.
