Skill Development Council (SDC) has introduced five new training programmes in current and next months to meet the need of technical staff of manufacturing industry. This was stated by Chairman Skill Development Council Imtiaz Rastgar on Wednesday. He said that the Council was producing highly skilled manpower for the private sector and its programme has relevance to the market needs.
Chairman added that the Council was emphasising entrepreneurship so that maximum number of people could start their own business which will lead to poverty reduction in the country. In present economic recession this is the best strategy to introduce Pakistan in the global market, he added. The government has tasked the council to modernise skill development in the country by aligning it to the demand of industry for facilitating greater jobs opportunities.
The Council has initiated public private partnership to achieve this goal, he said. The course on entrepreneurship aims to produce and develop competent, confident and reflective entrepreneurs capable of evaluating and developing their own small business and learning support practices in the context of market theory, research and product development. There will be a special emphasis on developing generic competencies underpinned by business values within the context of business management practice.
