Closure of educational institutions caused panic among citizens on Wednesday in Punjab in the wake of terrorist attack on Islamic University Islamabad. Majority of the parents, especially the mothers and their children, were found discussing about the reasons behind the move taken by the Punjab government. This single step has given rise to the perception that the country was passing through high tense situation.
Many families remained glued to the TV screens in order to get latest updates on the emergency like situation. It may be noted that the administrations of many private schools had sent emergency SMS to the parents to inform them about the closure of respective institutions. However, still many students were amazed to know about the fact that they were not going to their schools in the middle of the week.
They were also found raising various queries out of their innocent approach on the issue. The political and social circles have expressed deep concern over the situation and they have pointed out that any further delay in the resumption of routine activities in the educational institutions would lead to many psychological problems among the parents and the young generation.
It is also worth mentioning that the closure of the educational institutions have panicked the citizens at large and many of the elders of the families were embarrassed while embarking upon their daily routine activities. Many wives were found advising their spouses to keep on informing about their safety while at work. Many political circles, particularly the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, were found criticising both the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) for their failure in addressing the worsening law and order situation in the country.
According to these circles, the coalition government had earlier failed in arresting the rising price hike, followed by a string of terrorist attacks in the country. They also criticised the top leadership of both the parties for adopting a dilly-dallying attitude towards the situation and pointed out absence of visionary leadership in the country was resulting into further chaos and confusion among masses.
