Soft red winter wheat futures rose at the Chicago Board of Trade in afternoon trading on Thursday as traders covered short positions as new fund money came into the market, traders said. Minneapolis Grain Exchange spring wheat and Kansas City Board of Trade hard red winter wheat also rose. At 12:44 pm CDT (1744 GMT), CBOT December wheat was up 11 cents at $5.53-1/2 a bushel.
