Sindh Education Minister, Pir Mazhar ul Haq, has directed the officers of his department to streamline academic matters in Lyari area of Karachi. He asked them to take measures for the promotion of education in Lyari and that three model schools be established in every union Council.
The Minister said that the situation is conducive for the promotion of education in Lyari and opportunities exist for attaining progress. He said that in view of the directive of the President of Pakistan every possible steps be taken for the promotion of education in Lyari and that condition of schools be improved, enrolment of students be enhanced, absenteeism of teachers be checked, shortage of teachers be overcome, cleanliness be maintained and monitoring teams be formed.
The impediments be removed in the way of establishment of Lyari university and medical college. The minister also asked the elected representatives, people of the area, teachers and officials of the Education Department to undertake concerted efforts to help streamline the education in Lyari area.
