Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has directed the authority concerned to expedite the work on developmental projects being carried out in Faisalabad on special directives of Chief Minister Punjab and asked them to ensure their completion within specified period.
Delay in completion and the use of low quality material in these public welfare schemes would not be tolerated at any cost, he warned them. He issued these directions while chairing a meeting held here on Wednesday to review the pace of all ongoing developmental projects.
In the meeting, the construction and expansion of 8 main city roads by NLC, solid waste management scheme, water supply, sewerage and drainage project, Abdullahpur under Pass, upgradation of Ghulam Muhammabad Hospital, establishment of Laboratory for checking of spurious and fake drugs, developmental and administrative matters of FIC, setting up of Girls College at Samnabad, construction of Sports Complex at Samundri, establishment of Polytechnic Institute at Millat Town and other important public welfare schemes were discussed in details.
At this occasion, the commissioner directed to heads of Divisional and District concerned developmental departments to ensure proper monitoring of these projects and take stringent actions against contractors and officials causing delay in their timely completion. Director Development Dr Tariq Sardar, AC (R) Shafqatullah Mushtaq and others concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
