The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has provisionally collected over Rs 90 billion during October 2009 against the target of Rs 110 billion. Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that the provisional collection would further improve in coming days on compilation of final figures.
However, the tax managers were confident to meet the target for October 2009 in view of current pace of revenue collection, they said. So far the provisional collection stood at over and above Rs 90 billion during this period. It is expected that the revenue collection may touch Rs 120 billion against the target of Rs 110 billion. The target for first four months of the current fiscal stood at Rs 378.60 billion.
The break-up of target for (July-October) revealed that the direct taxes target was Rs 141.300 billion; and sales tax: Rs 155.100 billion: Federal excise duty (FED): Rs 40 billion, while the target of customs duty has been fixed at Rs 42.200 billion during (July-October).
