Ban on pre-paid connections in IHK annoys masses

The ban on pre-paid mobile connections in occupied Kashmir by the India government has caused anger among the subscribers especially the youth. The pre-paid mobile subscribers are furious that they have been clubbed with those who misuse the phone connections in the occupied territory, KMS reported.
The decision to snap the service has resulted in total chaos among subscribers. "It is strange that I should be punished because someone somewhere could misuse the facility. This is unfortunate and condemnable," Muzaffar Ahmad, a college student, told media men in occupied Srinagar.
"There are around 3.8 million pre-paid connections in the occupied territory. The owners of companies providing service in Kashmir have made huge investments and they too are angry," he added. Most people especially youth who have got limited pocket money and preferred pre-paid connections are much annoyed.
"Until now we knew our limitations how much to talk, if we go in for post-paid connections, that limit would be hard to know," said a workingwoman. Majority of the pre-paid subscribers who talked to the newsmen flayed the ban on the connection in occupied Kashmir. Many subscribers believe that despite the ban on the pre-paid SIM cards, the telecommunication companies cannot prevent the misuse of the mobile.
