Suo motu action taken against expulsion of student

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) here, on Monday, took a suo motu notice against expulsion of class-VII student from school due to her physical disability. The Chief Justice directed Executive District Officer (EDO) Education, Bahawalpur, to file a report on the matter within three days.
The CJ took notice on a news item published in a national daily stating that Fauzia, a seventh-class student at government elementary school of Shahdara Basti, was expelled by the school administration due to her physical disability. In her statement, Fauzia said that she used a wheelchair for which the security guards had to open main gate, which they considered a burden and expelled her from the school.
