Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (Safron) Najmuddin Khan said that over 0.40 million ATM cards have so far been issued to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Malakand and Waziristan. The government provided Rs 25,000 to each family of IDPs to fulfil their basic needs, the minister said.
"Reconstruction and rehabilitation of educational institutions in Swat likely to be started in this current month," Najmuddin Khan told APP on Tuesday. He said, "The government is providing educational facilities under makeshift arrangements including temporary tents and rented buildings to save the future of kids of affected areas.
"We have hired several buildings to continue education in Swat and Malakand," he added. Commenting on the figure of schools and educational infrastructure that were damaged by the terrorists in Swat and Malakand, the minister said over 300 schools mainly of girls' were reduced to rubbles.
With regard to the government's rehabilitation efforts for the victims of ongoing Operation Rah-e-Nijat, Najmuddin Khan said that around 40,000 families have been registered, and they are being provided full support. Reposing full confidence in success of operations Rah-e-Nijat and Rah-e-Raast he expressed firm resolve to eliminate terrorism from rest of the country.
