Provincial Minister for Information, Shazia Marri, has said that Pakistan and Malaysia have very good bilateral and cultural ties. President Asif Ali Zardari has focused on increasing trade with other countries of the world and he believes in trade not aid.
This she said while talking to a delegation of Malaysian media persons comprised of Balan Moses Deputy Chief News Editor "New Straits Times", Hafizaha Binti Kamaruddin "Editorial Executive Bernama, Johardy Bin Ibrahim Maulana Assistant Foreign News Editor Utusan Malaysia, Azam Bin Abdul Hamid Assistant Editor Berita Harlan and the Eng Hock reporter daily Star.
The minister said that the present democratic government was happy to see developments in Malaysia. She said that the government had initiated many programmes like Benazir Income Support Programme, provision of agriculture lands to landless women farmers and many other programmes in the fields of health, education and agriculture to uplift the masses especially women.
Shazia further stated that the present government was following the vision and ideology of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in all walks of life to develop the country and providing all needed facilities to the people to work in right direction.
She said that certain nationalist parties had focused on provincial issues and they were narrow minded, while Pakistan Peoples Party was a National Party and having international vision and addressing all national and International issues effectively. The minister said that PPP believed in strengthening federating units to make Pakistan stronger.
She said that Sindh had a rich culture and it was a land of saints, poets, writers and philosophers and they all believed in peace and love. Shazia also told the delegation about political system prevalent in Pakistan. On this occasion, Sindh Secretary Information Malik Asrar Hussain, Director General Syed Safdar Ali Shah and Director Administration S.M. Iqbal were also present.
