Provincial Minister for Women Development Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto has said that the women protection bill passed by the National Assembly would be implemented. She assured that strict monitoring would be ensured to avoid misuse of the bill on the ground of personal enmity.
Addressing a press conference here at Circuit House, Hyderabad on Friday she said the government was aware of the victimisation of rural women on pretext of Karo-Kari. She said that the government would not allow any one to take the law in his hands and cases would be registered against the Waderas who organises illegal Jirgah.
She said that five Women Complaint Centres, one each at Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana, have been established which are functioning satisfactory, adding that such centres would also be established in other districts of the province.
The minister said that the government was giving priority to the development of women folk and was providing Rs 1000 to each poor woman under BISP. Women Development Minister said the government has decided to establish working women hostels at Karachi, Larkana and other big cities to facilitate the working women.
