Punjab Assembly again turned into a fish market for the second consecutive day on Friday, as opposition members and PML-N legislators traded allegations on each other leadership of acquiring land forcefully or at throwaway prices, amid noisy protest and sloganeering by opposition members.
At the very outset of the proceeding of the house on Friday, opposition legislators started sloganeering with thumping desks and demanded apology from Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for his Thursday's remarks against PML-Q leadership, dubbing them as "robbers".
Rana Sanaullah's remarks while answering a question regarding sale of Roberts Farms in Faisalabad stirred uproar among opposition members on Thursday, which disturbed the house proceeding. The opposition members continued their protest on Friday and did not let the house to proceed smoothly.
PML-Q MPAs tore off the copies of the agenda and staged a walkout from the house against the law minister. During the noisy protest, Opposition leader Chaudhry Zaheer-u-Din branded the PML-N top leadership as "dacoits" and accused them of grabbing land in Raiwind. He alleged that Rana Sanaullah was threatening him in and out of the House. He said if there was any illegality in Roberts Farms' deal, the law course should be taken and courts should be approached against it.
Zaheer-u-Din said that till tendering an apology by the law minister for his insulting remarks, the opposition would continue its protest. Law Minister Rana Sanaullah during the proceeding rejected the allegation that he had grabbed a 10-marla plot in Faisalabad and reiterated his stance to reigns if the allegation was proved. The House was later adjourned till Monday.
