Paying rich tributes to the services of film star and TV artist, Syed Kamal, musician Lal Muhammad Iqbal and film star Yousaf Khan, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here on Friday held a condolence reference. Renowned scholars and actors showered glowing tributes to the deceased artists for their lifetime achievements in the field of performing arts in the country.
Director General PNCA and noted actor, Tauqeer Nasir and actors like Agha Nasir and Alia Imam were among the speakers who expressed views about the role of these artists in the performing art scenes of Pakistan.
They said that contributions of such actors are priceless and for music, drama and film industry of the country which was now on decline for the past few years. "The reference was not only organised to pay homage to the artists but also to remember the services of the country's old artists and keeping them alive for the young generation to get inspiration in the performing arts," they added.
