Russia will raise its import tariff on rice to 120 euros ($178.2) per tonne from 70 euros for nine months to support the competitiveness of domestic producers, the government said on Friday. The government said on its web site, www.government.ru, that the new tariff will become effective one month after the official publication of an order setting it.
Publication of an order in the government gazette, Rossiiskaya Gazeta, normally takes place within days of the website announcement.
