Ronaldo’s suspension ends, available against Real Betis
A sign of relief for Real Madrid, as their star Cristiano Ronaldo all set for La Liga return against Real Betis after serving a five-game suspension.
The striker served the last game of his suspension as his side went on to beat Real Sociedad 3-1 at the Bernabeu on Sunday evening.
Ronaldo picked up the ban after pushing referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea in Los Blancos’ 3-1 Spanish Super Cup victory over Barcelona last month.
Left out of the starting line-up, Ronaldo had scored with a beautiful strike to make it 2-1 in the 80th minute and earned a yellow card for taking off his shirt to flex his muscles at Camp Nou.
The Real Madrid star was booked again just two minutes later for diving in the area and reacted to the decision by shoving the referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea from behind.
However, the 32-year-old showed no signs of rustiness as he scored twice in midweek against APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League.
