Tehrik-e-Insaaf Pakistan (TIP) Chairman Imran Khan started mass-contact campaign here on Sunday (yesterday) by addressing two corner meetings at Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. He demanded that those who have assets in foreign countries should not be allowed to contest general elections and hold public offices in Pakistan.
The cricket legend turned politician Imran Khan asked his party men and youth to prepare themselves for mid-term elections in the country since the present elected government has failed to solve problems of poor people. Imran is very critical of President Asif Ali Zardari for his alleged involvement in financial scandals and failure to fulfil the election promises to annul the 17 constitution amendment, restore the pre November 3, 2007 judiciary and adopt independent foreign policy.
In his mass contact campaign, TIP chief intends to reach out to youth particularly college and university students and wants them to take greater part in national affairs as a pressure group to eradicate corruption, injustices and other social evils.
