Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader and former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Chaudhry Jaffer Iqbal has said that there is no possibility of improving the situation without bringing positive change in the present system, nor the differences among parties would be removed.
He expressed these views in a statement issued here on Sunday. He stressed that for bringing political stability and peace in the country, the pro-dictatorship clauses in the constitution, besides the decayed old system, would have to be changed. He warned that any persistence by the 'Aiwan-e-Sadr' could derail the newly established democracy, adding that the non-serious attitude of President Asif Ali Zardari is an obstacle in the way of political and economical stability in the country. He said that people are not ready to believe on promises of the President Zardari and at present, they need sympathetic and genius national leadership, which has the capability of combating internal and external challenges, facing the country.
He clarified that the PML-N is not against any person or party and is least interested in minus one, two and three formula. He opined that if one having extraordinary powers could not deliver anything to country and nation, he should quit from power.
He said the PPP should sincerely try to abolish the disputed clauses of the constitution, including the 17th amendment, which would help promote national reconciliation. He said that the unsuccessful foreign policy of PPP-led government is isolating Pakistan in the world.
