Development schemes in Murree: maximum work should be completed before snowfall: Shahbaz
Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed utilisation of all-out resources for the early completion of on going development schemes in Murree. He added that maximum development work should be completed before snowfall.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of district administration in government house, Murree, in which pace of implementation of development projects in Murree was reviewed in detail.
A comprehensive plan is being implemented expeditiously for the beautification of Murree and provision of facilities to the tourists. This was revealed in a communication of DGPR received here on Sunday. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, DCO, representatives of NESPAK as well as senior officers concerned attended the meeting. The Chief Minister directed that the pace of implementation of schemes in Murree should be further accelerated.
He further said that the officers of concerned departments and representatives of different institutions should maintain a close co-ordination with each other at every level to ensure that the objectives of the development strategy are achieved for the benefit of the people.
The meeting reviewed the pace of work on different projects, including construction of parking plazas at Dhobi Ghat and Jheka Gali, repair and construction of link roads, development of parks, cable cars, street lights, removal of encroachments, horticulture schemes and repair and widening of Rawalpindi-Murree Road. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and officers of concerned departments briefed the meeting.
