The members of the MQM Co-ordination Committee have alleged that the Gilgit-Baltistan election was rigged and the results were manipulated by the ruling party.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, they alleged that the armed agents of ruling party with the help of police, occupied all the polling stations and started casting bogus votes, while the genuine voters were not allowed to go into the polling station and were also harassed and physically assaulted.
The MQM members of National Assembly Iqbal Mohammed Ali and Shaikh Salahuddin were attacked by armed workers of Peoples Party when they were on a visit to polling stations along with MQM Candidate Raza Azam. The police remained silent spectators, they added.
The MQM Co-ordination Committee accused that undemocratic methods were adopted by the ruling party. The members of MQM Co-ordination Committee have urged the election Commission to take serious notice of the rigging. The MQM is collecting facts and figures and announce it at an appropriate time, they said.-PR
