The Provincial Police busted 888 gangs of criminals and seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition during the period from January to November 11. According to a report, the police arrested 2,906 accused during police encounters, busted 888 gangs and killed 164 most wanted outlaws involved in hundreds of cases of murders, dacoities, kidnappings for ransom.
As per report the police recovered 700 Kalashnikovs, 1,435 shotguns, 363 rifles, 8,188 pistols, mausers, revolvers besides 110 hand grenades, mortars etc. The report said that 3,673 proclaimed offenders and 42,602 absconding accused were also arrested. During the period 3,969 snatched/stolen mobile telephones and snatched or lifted vehicles were also recovered.
