Hamza Ali Abbasi under fire for praising 'US-claimed terrorist' Hafiz Saeed
Pakistan’s well known TV actor/host Hamza Ali Abbasi is again in headlines for making yet another controversial statement. Abbasi’s controversial tweet was about Hafiz Muhammed Saeed, whose religious charity launched the new Milli Muslim League.
Saeed's newly formed political party Milli Muslim League (MML) came in third place in the current NA-120 by-elections. On which Pakistani actor tweeted,
Hafiz Saeed has done gr8 work against Takfeer & Sectarianism, social work for non Muslims of Pak & is a mentor to Kashmiris. https://t.co/ozduEN2Wmv

Hafiz Saeed doesn't hate India or Indians. He only hates & speaks against Indian Govt's atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir. https://t.co/64xTlbyVzC

The comments in defence of Hafiz Saeed came as a surprise to many of the people that follow Abbasi on social media. Angry fans did question his latest action and blast him on social media.
Saeed is currently under house arrest, and is a controversial figure locally and internationally. Saeed had been accused by the United States and India of masterminding the 2008 attacks in Mumbai that killed 166 people. He, however, has repeatedly denied involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In 2012, the United States announced a bounty of $10 million on Hafiz Saeed for his alleged role in the attack in which six American citizens were also killed.
