In connection with 17th "Book Week" celebrations in Iran, a special ceremony was arranged at Punjab University (PU) Main Library. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kamran said only knowledge made humans superior to animals and other creatures of the world, and it comes from books.
"The Creator of the universe blessed man with books and the Prophets brought knowledge in the forms of holy books. Human mind broadened through reading and it brought man out from dark to light.
However, unfortunately in our country we were not giving importance to books. The 'Book Week' would draw people's attention towards books," he added. Iranian Counsel General Saeed Kharazi said the book exhibition is arranged every year in Iran and its objective was to promote knowledge.
