Pakistan India Business Council (PIBC) has urged to set up experts committee to prepare proposals on joint economic zone between India and Pakistan. Chairman PIBC Noor Muhammad Kasuri said in an interview with APP here on Sunday.
He said that the joint economic zone would usher in a new era of economic co-operation between both the neighbouring states, which result in welfare of the citizens across the border. Kasuri said that PPP government is striving for poverty alleviation in Pakistan and Indian government should also avail the opportunity to redress sufferings of its masses.
He said that it is the high time to realise the ground realities and come out of false illusions of enmity against each other. PIBC chairman said that Pakistan is situated at a very important geographical location and the country should use this God gifted opportunity for earning money by giving transit facilities to its neighbouring countries.
He said that a delegation of politicians including those from opposition and members of National Assembly's standing committee on Foreign affairs, experts from Pak-India Business Council, media-men and other concerned persons should be send to India for preparing ground for solving issues between them through mutual dialogue.
He said that PIBC is working to bring both the countries close to each other and it is confident that the objectives can be achieved without interference from any third power. He praised the commitment of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for better relations with India, which the Prime Minister expressed during his meeting with the US President Obama's National Security advisor James Jones recently.
Noor Muhammad Kasuri said that there is an urgent need to strengthen trade relations between both the country by changing present coldness in their ties.
