MCB Staff Union of Pakistan on Tuesday claimed that Shaheed Usman Ghani Group had nothing to do with the MCB CBA. Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, President MCB Staff Union of Pakistan (CBA) Riyafat Khan Jadoon and Secretary General Muhammad Khan claimed that they were real representatives of MCB staff Union of Pakistan (CBA), which had been working for the last eight years in the MCB Bank and that it successfully negotiated with the bank management for three Charter of Demands for the bank employees.
"Saeed Ghani and others who are protesting outside the MCB Tower for the last couple of weeks were expelled by the bank management and the rest of the people have received a golden handshake," they said, adding that these people had been visiting various bank branches in the city and harassing the staff, due to which customers were also facing problems.
Riyafat Khan said the visit of bank branches by Saeed Ghani along with his associates despite Sindh High Court's orders was in violation of the court order. He said the respected customers of the MCB had repeatedly written to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) while the bank management tendered apologies for the inconvenience that they faced through newspapers. Further, the setting up of protest camp outside MCB Tower despite the imposition of Section 144 in the city was also an unlawful act, he further added. According to him, MCB Bank emerged as the best bank after its privatisation and such elements are causing harm to its image, which would hurt country's economy.
